Mike Judge’s characters are older but not much wiser, as Beavis and Butthead return in a brand new movie: here’s the trailer.
The abbreviation ‘NSFW’ (Not Suitable For Work) may well have been invented for this duo. Mike Judge’s immature creations, first seen in a television series on MTV in 1992 before headlining their own feature film, Beavis and Butthead Do America, in 1996, are back in their first appearance since a revival series in 2011.
Beavis and Butthead Do The Universe is a direct sequel to the first film, following the boys as they pull pranks at summer camp that eventually escalates into them both being launched into space. We don’t know much more that that, other than to expect lowbrow comedy and gross out gags galore.
The film is a passion project for Judge, as he writes, produces, directs and stars as both Beavis and Butthead. It is something of a golden age for the franchise, as two new series and a variety of spin off projects are also in production for the streaming service.
