Action movie stalwarts Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo go toe to toe in the upcoming action thriller Cop Shop.
Director Joe Carnahan’s next film has an interesting premise at its core. But more than that, it also has the twin titans of action, Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo, going up against each other. Alexis Louder also stars too.
Carnahan, who recently directed Grillo in Boss Level, returns to the action genre again, although Copshop has a rather dramatic conceit at the heart of its narrative: Grillo’s conman character is on the run from a dangerous hitman (Butler) and seeks to get himself locked up behind bars for protection.
The film is set to be released, in the US at least, on September 17th, although we’ll be getting it here in the UK a week earlier on the 10th. You can catch the trailer below.

Screaming through the Nevada desert in a bullet-ridden Crown Vic, wily con artist Teddy Murretto hatches a desperate plan to hide out from lethal hitman Bob Viddick: He sucker-punches rookie officer Valerie Young to get himself arrested and locked up in a small-town police station. But jail can’t protect Murretto for long. Viddick schemes his own way into detention, biding his time in a nearby cell until he can complete his mission. When the arrival of a competing assassin ignites all-out mayhem, mounting threats force Viddick to get creative if he wants to finish the job and escape the explosive situation.
