Vacation Friends trailer debuted by Disney+

The trailer for Vacation Friends, the new comedy coming to Disney+ in August, has been released online. Disney+ UK has released a trailer for their new comedy film Vacation Friends, which arrives exclusively on the streamer on the 27th August. Starring John Cena (Fast And Furious 9), Lil Rel Howery (Fatherhood), Yvonne Orji (Spontaneous) and Meredith Hagner (Palm Springs), the film focuses on the group and their unlikely friendship. Enjoying their wedding weekend, Howery and Orji’s characters are in for a surprise when Cena and Hagner, a couple they partied with whilst on holiday in Mexico, turn up to carry on the party. Depending on what version of the trailer you watch, this party seems quite different. Disney+ UK have released a fun but relatively tame trailer that hints at some of the hijinks, but releasing on Hulu in the States, there is a Red Band (explicit/uncensored) trailer which shows the tone of the film in a lot more detail – think The Hangover mixed with Palm Springs and any number of Apatow films. To date, this feels like the most adult Disney+ exclusive the company have advertised, coming from their 20th Century Studios production company and going to the Star wing of the streaming site. Whilst there are plenty of other adult comedies and dramas now available on the streaming platform (who would have ever thought you could watch Borat or Jennifer’s Body in the home of Mickey Mouse?) this feels like the first step in to labelling them as such original and exclusive content.
