To celebrate the 35th birthday of Labyrinth, a brand new physical media 4K release is arriving this September: details here.
We’ve already been treated to a version of the much-loved family movie
Labyrinth on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray before, but we’re now set to get a slightly different one to mark the 35
th birthday of the film later this year.
Directed by Jim Henson and starring David Bowie, Jennifer Connelly and half the contents of the Jim Henson Creature Shop, the new release of the film comes with a 28 page digibook, that itself includes rare artwork and materials from the Henson archive. There’s also 25 minutes of never-before seen deleted and alternate material, to which Brian Henson has contributed a commentary. A bunch of screen tests are also included.
Furthermore, there are extra features carried over from the previous releases too, with the new set coming with both a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray and a Blu-ray disc in the box.
The release date for this one had been previously announced, but it’s been put back slightly to September 6
th.
The existing 30
th anniversary release
also remains available on 4K, here.
