A new deal should resolve the alleged issues between Paramount Pictures and the director of A Quiet Place Part II.
Only a couple of days ago, we reported that the key creatives of the upcoming horror, A Quiet Place Part II were allegedly locked in a dispute with Paramount. The studio’s decision to half the film’s theatrical exclusivity window from 90 days to 45 in the US was the source of the problem, with John Krasinski, the film’s director, Emily Blunt, the film’s star, and anybody else with backend deals dependent on the film’s success in cinemas, fearful that they would lose out.
It’s now been revealed that Krasinski has signed a first-look deal with Paramount, which will most likely resolve the issue between the two parties. Regardless, it’s a public show of unity from the two sides that will put to bed the reports of disharmony behind the scenes.
Under the deal, Krasinski’s next film for Paramount will be an untitled project with him in front of the camera, and also starring Ryan Reynolds. We’ll bring you more details on that project as we hear them. In the meantime, we’re all excited to see A Quiet Place Part II, when the film releases (exclusively in cinemas here in the UK,) on June 4th.
