The director of Blue Ruin and Green Room has a new thriller on the launchpad at Netflix – and the casting has now come together too.
If you’ve not encountered a film from director Jeremy Saulnier before, then it’s something very much worth redressing. It’s the two films that very much put him on the map worth seeking out, 2013’s Blue Ruin and 2015’s Green Room. Then he got the backing of Netflix to make 2018’s Hold The Dark too.
It’s the Netflix chequebook that’s funding his new film too, a thriller by the name of Rebel Ridge. Quite the cast for this one too. John Boyega, Don Johnson, James Badge Dale, Zsane Jhe, AnnaSophia Robb and Emory Cohen have completed the cast for the movie.
As per Deadline, ‘The pic explores systemic American injustice in the context of action, suspense and black humor’. But that’s all the information e’re getting at the moment. By the sounds of it, it’s all set to shoot this year too, and it’s a film very much on our radar.
