Mark Elliott, the voice behind dozens of movie trailers from the 80s and 90s, has sadly left us at the age of 81.
The world of top end trailer voiceover work famously leaves the people behind them well renumerated yet enjoying the anonymity a Hollywood star simply wouldn’t get. And over the weekend, we lost a voice that many of us will know, even if we don’t know the face behind it.
As it happened, that face belonged to Mark Elliott, and in sad news, he’s passed on at the age of 81. He worked in voiceovers from the end of the 70s to the early 2000s. Whilst he did the likes of radio spots for Star Wars and the trailer voiceover for projects such as Chariots Of Fire and Smokey & The Bandit, he would become known in the 80s and 90s in particular as the voice of Disney trailers.
