Warner Media confirms there will be no further Zack Snyder DC projects, following the release of his cut of Justice League.
Zack Snyderās Justice League is finally in the world, a remarkable confection of fan support and corporate strategy. Naturally, in the wake of the filmās release, many of the sub-plots that have threaded this unlikely tale together are also reaching resolutions of their own.
WarnerMedia CEO Ann Sarnoff has announced in an interview with
Variety that Zack Snyderās āSnyder-verseā series of DC films is dead, following the release of his cut of
Justice League.
Following the filmās extended epilogue sequence which sets up a subsequent two movie arc, the same fans who successfully campaigned for the Snyder cut to be restored have begun to campaign for the final two films of the Snyder-verse to be similarly resurrected.
Sarnoff however, has immediately shot down that notion, saying āI appreciate that they love Zack’s work and we are very thankful for his many contributions to DC. We’re just so happy that he could bring his cut of the “Justice League” to life because that wasn’t in the plan until about a year ago. With that comes the completion of his trilogy. We’re very happy we’ve done this, but we’re very excited about the plans we have for all the multi-dimensional DC characters that are being developed right now.ā
Although weāve seen WarnerMedia do about turns before regarding Snyderās work, they seem to have come out early in this case, looking to shut down the groundswell before it can gather momentum.
Still, at this point, given the unlikely nature of whatās happened so far, this is a story that could continue to run and may just have a few more surprises in store for us yetā¦
