No Time to Die, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and more delayed

A whole host of films have their release dates put back (again), led by the new James Bond adventure No Time To Die.

With lockdowns across the world meaning cinemas remain shuttered, it was only a matter of time before the major studios began to move the next crop of planned blockbuster releases further back this year. Perhaps this time to a point when hopefully we’ll all be able to enjoy them communally, in the comfort of our favourite cinema. We’ve already seen a few films that were due around March, such as Sony’s Spider-Man spin-off Morbius and The Sopranos prequel, The Many Saints of Newark delayed. Now, a further raft of films have been pushed back as well. MGM has announced that Daniel Craig’s final outing as Bond, No Time To Die, is now slated for an October 2021 release, a whopping eighteen months after its originally-scheduled planned debut. This marks the film’s fourth scheduled release slot. Sony has also opted to push back several other films too. Jason Reitman’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife will now be with us on November 11th, moving from its previous date in June. The musical Cinderella shifts from a February slot to July 16th and the Peter Rabbit sequel moves from April 2nd to June 11th. The biggest move though is the Uncharted film, based on the beloved PlayStation franchise and starring Tom Holland. That one is moving from July 2021 all the way into February 2022. Universal has also shifted some of its dates, with the interesting-looking Bob Odenkirk action flick, Nobody, being pushed back from April to May, whilst Bios, the Tom Hanks sci-fi movie has been delayed  from April to August. There will likely be more of these delays yet to come.
