As it continues to spend heavily on new films and TV shows, Netflix is introducing a range of price rises in the UK from February.
As Netflix continues to invest heavily in new film and television productions, it’s been confirmed that prices for the service are to increase in the UK from next month.
The service has been facing stiff competition in particular over the last year, with Disney+, Apple TV+ and Amazon Prime Video in particular getting their chequebooks out and spending big to try and catch it.
Netflix remains the market leader though, but it’s going to be investing a lot more money in its material to stay in place. As such, from February, the company’s standard plan will rise from £8.99 a month to £9.99 a month. The premium pack goes up by £2 a month to £13.99.
It’ll be keeping its entry level basic plan at £5.99.
Separately, Disney will be putting the price of its Disney+ service up from £5.99 a month to £7.99 a month in the UK shortly.
The Netflix rises are due to come into effect in February.
