Some festive ghost stories all in aid of a good cause? Here’s what’s in store on Friday night – do support it if you can.
Christmas is coming, the goose is getting fat, please put a penny in… well, not the old man’s hat if you don’t mind. Instead, perhaps you’d like to use those pennies to attend what promises to be a rollicking good night of festive fun, frolics and frights while helping support a very good cause.
This Friday (18th December) at 7.30 PM GMT, join Paul Childs (that’s me!) and pals for
A Night Of Ghost Stories for Christmas hosted on Zoom. All proceeds will be donated to
MS Society.
Readers are:
- Jed Shepherd, the co-creator of this year’s mega-hit Zoom-based supernatural thriller HOST.
- Icy Sedgwick of Fabulous Folklore Podcast and author of many horror stories including the brilliant The Stolen Ghosts.
- Gemma Amor, author of the Bram Stoker Award-nominated novel Dear Laura and editor of the new charity horror anthology We Are Wolves.
- Andrew Lyall, host of YouTube’s Grumpy Andrew’s Horror House and author of Crowthorne from Local Haunts, an anthology of horror stories written by YouTubers.
- Libby Harris, a North East based writer of excellent creepy stories, contributor to Electric Ghost magazine and former live TV subtitler.
Not to mention Film Stories’ own:
- Jane Roberts, author of the short story collection The Repository of Lost Souls, the forthcoming Lost Souls: Spirits and this very site’s Wellbeing Matters weekly feature.
And, I suppose I ought to mention myself too:
- Paul Childs, author of Badgers Crossing, an online all-age collection of scary stories (two of which are to be published by Greenteeth Press in the New Year), and occasional contributor to Film Stories magazine.
Get your tickets, costing £5.50, from

Come along, turn down the lights, pour yourself a cup of mulled wine, grab a mince pie, light the fire and let us read to you and scare you silly!
