A short film from a young, upcoming filmmaker: if you can, take a look at Red Wrath and leave some feedback right here.
It’s not the most positive way to start this story, but it’s worth noting: young filmmakers putting their work out into the world are having to face the less sunny side of the internet. That there are, sadly, many people out there who seem to keen to leave negative and bullying comments on their work.
To young filmmakers who have made a short film then: we want to give you a platform for your work. Tell us a little about you and your film, and let’s hopefully get some encouraging eyeballs on it.
Over then to Declan Patrick Gorman. He’s made a short film called Red Wrath, and we’re handing over to him…
“I’m 19 and an aspiring filmmaker and writer/journalist from Belfast. I remember when I was around 10 using my dad’s handheld recorder to film little bits of films of my Aunt. When I got the chance to make films at school, I jumped at the opportunity. I studied Moving Image Arts and Journalism at GCSE and A-Level.
My most recent short film – Red Wrath – I had to adapt my creative intentions as Coronavirus hit and left me out of school and worried about my future. I managed to edit footage I had shot already to form the final piece – which I’m very happy with. I’m very proud of it.”
