Life really is spectacularly unfair sometimes: Chadwick Boseman has left us, at the age of just 43 years old.
Like many of you, we’ve just woken up to the awful, awful news that Chadwick Boseman has passed away, at the age of just 43. I don’t even know how to describe how unfair it is, and do his passing any kind of justice.
It turns out that four years ago, Boseman had been diagnosed with colon cancer, and had kept the news private. Whilst battling the awful disease, he made Black Panther, Da 5 Bloods, 21 Bridges, Marshall and the last two Avengers films. I mean: that’s some body of work if you’re healthy. To do all that against the backdrop of a diagnosis such as is is pretty bloody humbling.
That he leaves behind such strong work is a consolation of sorts, but still: this feels like a particularly cruel move by the world, and the planet’s hardly been shy of them of late.
Rest in peace Mr Boseman. Know that your work and your legacy lives on. Many will stand on your shoulders, and thoughts so much with your family and friends.
